Stan Lee Dead at 95
1922 - 2018
Stan Lee got Marvel Comics up & running again in the 1960's, creating such heroes as Spider Man, Iron Man and the Fantastic Four. Just across the alley from the house I grew up in was Robert's Liquor Store which had a comics rack. I had bought comics before, such as Magnus Robot Fighter and M.A.R.S. Patrol but if memory serves I was hooked on Marvel when I bought Fantastic Four #69. I collected and read comics till the 1980's, which was to me when Marvel's Silver Age of comics ended.
Comics and the influence they had on me helped shaped the person I am today. I was introduced to CONAN via Marvel Comics and the series of Lancer paperbacks being published at the time. Comics are very different now and I would tell people to read the older ones, for the artwork and story's.

EXCELSIOR Stan and Thank You!

It's been Real....

Real sucky. I have not been on my blog since 2016. Part of the reason was in July 2017 another one of my best friends and fellow war-gamer, Tim Keennon died of a massive heart attack. I had known Tim for 35+ years (2 marriages/2 divorces/2 children/2 grandchildren). At least the day before his son & daughter came by for a visit and he got to see & hold his 2nd grandchild,

So I have been in a funk for a while, trying to work my way out of it.

And I hope to keep this thing updated more often. One game we have been playing at our local hobby store is Two Fat Lardies "What a Tanker!" It's not to hard to pick up and learn and fun. I'll try to post some pictures of game real soon.
